Day<\/h1><\/div><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-848939 kc_text_block\"><p>World Patient Safety Day (WPSD) is observed annually on\u00a0<strong>17 September<\/strong>, as established by the World Health Assembly resolution WHA72.6. It serves as a global call to action, uniting patients, families, health workers, policymakers, and civil society to advance patient safety worldwide.<\/p><p>The\u00a0<strong>2025 campaign<\/strong>\u00a0focuses on safeguarding our youngest patients,\u00a0<strong>newborns and children<\/strong>\u00a0by ensuring that safety is prioritized right from the start of life. This year\u2019s theme,\u00a0<strong>\u201cSafe care for every newborn and every child\u201d<\/strong>, recognizes the urgent need to eliminate preventable harm in paediatric and neonatal health care settings.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-86641 kc-title-wrap \"><h1 class=\"kc_title\">Why This Theme?<\/h1><\/div><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-357529 kc_text_block\"><p>Newborns and children face disproportionately high risks of harm in health care, especially in intensive care units, surgical settings, and during medication administration. Research shows that\u00a0<strong>up to 97% of adverse events in neonatal care are preventable<\/strong>, and many such harms stem from unsafe childbirth, infections, diagnostic delays, and medication errors. Studies report rates of adverse events as high as\u00a0<strong>91.6%<\/strong>\u00a0in paediatric intensive care settings and up to\u00a0<strong>53.8%<\/strong>\u00a0in general care settings.<\/p><p>By prioritizing child-centred safety, we can save lives and strengthen lifelong health outcomes. The 2025 campaign calls for\u00a0<strong>stronger clinical safety standards<\/strong>, better training for health workers, and more effective systems for reporting, learning, and family engagement.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-452554 kc-title-wrap \"><h1 class=\"kc_title\">Objectives of WPSD 2025<\/h1><\/div><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-397726 kc_text_block\"><p><strong>1.
