More than 3,000 public health professionals and researchers, policymakers, and students attended the global event organized by the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA) in association with\u00a0the Italian Society of Hygiene, Preventive Medicine and Public Health (SItI)\u00a0and\u00a0the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER). The theme of the Congress\u2014A World in Turmoil: Opportunities to Focus on the Public\u2019s Health\u00a0\u2014 reflected the WFPHA commitment, as the global health community, to work together within and outside of their respective fields to promote health equity and to build a more sustainable and just future.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/worldpatientsalliance.org\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/Resourceperson.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1564\" height=\"918\" \/>WPA&#8217;s Board of Directors member, <a href=\"https:\/\/worldpatientsalliance.org\/staging\/our-founders\/jolanta-bilinska\/\">Jolanta Bili\u0144ska<\/a>, was the resource person at the interactive session on \u201cBreaking the Health Silos\u2014 Once and Forever\u201d during the Congress. Ms. Bilinsha also presented on WPA\u2019s global initiatives on patient empowerment and engagement, improved access to safe innovative treatment, and patient-centered healthcare throughout the world at the international NGO session.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WPA participated in the 17th World Congress on Public Health (WCPH) in Rome from 2-6 May 2023.
