The World Patients Alliance (WPA) is delighted to announce its partnership with the President Stanisław Wojciechowski University of Kalisz, a leading academic institution in Poland renowned for its commitment to advancing education, research, and community engagement. This collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), sets a strategic framework for joint efforts to enhance patient safety, address chronic diseases, and promote equitable healthcare both in Poland and globally.
The MOU was officially signed by Prof. Andrzej Wojtyła, Rector of the University of Kalisz, and Hussain Jafri, CEO of the World Patients Alliance on 22nd November 2024 at the University of Kalisz, Poland, which marks the beginning of a dynamic partnership focused on innovative healthcare solutions and patient empowerment.
Following the signing, Hussain Jafri visited the University’s Medical School, where he engaged with faculty and students, highlighting the importance of patient-centered healthcare education. The visit also provided an opportunity to explore ways the Medical School could contribute to the shared goals of the partnership, particularly in advancing research and training in patient safety.
Additionally, Hussain Jafri met with the President of Kalisz, Krystian Kinastowski, who warmly welcomed the initiative and expressed his support for the partnership. President Kinastowski emphasized the significance of this collaboration for the city, noting how it aligns with Kalisz’s commitment to fostering innovation, education, and public health improvements.
University of Kalisz’s mission aligns closely with WPA’s goals of fostering patient empowerment and improving access to quality healthcare. Through this partnership, the organizations will work collaboratively to develop innovative programs, exchange expertise, and build healthcare capacity for professionals, patients, and communities.
Key elements of this collaboration include joint research initiatives, the creation of specialized training programs, the exchange of knowledge and expertise in e-health and non-communicable diseases, and co-hosting conferences and workshops to raise awareness and engage stakeholders. Both organizations are also committed to advancing public health through advocacy and the promotion of patient-centered practices.
Additionally, the partnership seeks to foster long-term academic exchanges and capacity-building initiatives that will benefit students, researchers, and healthcare professionals. The collaboration will also explore funding opportunities to support the development and implementation of groundbreaking projects aimed at improving global health outcomes.
