SUMMARY:World No Tobacco Day
DESCRIPTION:body.kc-css-system .kc-css-369667{margin-bottom: 20px;}\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nWorld No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is observed around the world every year on 31 May. This yearly celebration informs the public on the dangers of using tobacco, the business practices of tobacco companies, what WHO is doing to fight the tobacco epidemic, and what people around the world can do to claim their right to health and healthy living and to protect future generations.\nCDC has released a new web feature article on this year’s theme, which is preventing youth and young adults from using tobacco products and highlighting the tobacco industry’s attempts to attract youth. Since 1988, the World Health Organization (WHO) has used World No Tobacco Day to highlight the ways tobacco use harms people’s overall health According to a CDC surveys, more than 14 million teens ages 13-15 all across the world currently use tobacco products like cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, and more. In 2019 alone, 40% of U.S. middle- and high school students reported ever using a tobacco product. Most adults who smoke regularly started when they were under age 18, but there are effective strategies for helping keep young people from using tobacco in the first place, and to help them quit if they already use. Find out what parents, teachers, doctors and nurses, states, and communities can do to help prevent youth tobacco use and keep tobacco companies from advertising to young people\nRead More: https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/features/world-no-tobacco-day/protect-our-youth/index.html?s_cid=OSH_email_E225&deliveryName=DM29279\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
